Who is this course for?

This course is for construction professionals — project and site managers, engineers, architects, contract administrators and PMO staff working on built-environment projects. If you want a globally recognised credential that proves your depth in construction project delivery, the PMI-CP is built for you.

There are no prerequisites for taking this course, but to sit the exam you'll need to meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (or global equivalent) plus 36 months of construction project management experience within the last 10 years — OR — secondary-school diploma plus 60 months of construction project management experience within the last 10 years • Completion of PMI's four required PMI-CP foundational modules: Construction Contract & Risk Management, Interface Management, Communications, and Scope & Change Order Management • No prior PMI certification (such as PMP) is required

Who is PMI-CP for?

Construction-sector project managers, site agents, and PMOs working on built-environment projects (commercial, infrastructure, energy). The credential signals depth in contract administration, scheduling, and HSEQ on top of general PM.

How is PMI-CP different from PMP?

PMP is generalist across industries. PMI-CP is specifically about the built-environment lifecycle — contracts, procurement, scheduling, HSEQ, claims. Many holders carry both.

Is the exam fee included?

No. PMI charges the PMI-CP exam fee separately ($399 for members, $499 for non-members). PMCOE's fee covers the training, materials, and exam coaching.

Will my civil / structural / mechanical engineering background help?

Yes. The PMI-CP body of knowledge assumes familiarity with construction terminology, drawings, and contract types. Engineering and trades backgrounds shorten the study time materially.
