Who is this course for?

This course is for professionals working in agile teams — delivery leads, scrum team members, product owners and project managers. If you apply agile across frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, Lean and XP and want PMI's agile credential, the PMI-ACP is built for you.

There are no prerequisites for taking this course, but to sit the exam you'll need to meet the following eligibility requirements:

• 2,000 hours of general project experience earned within the last five years (or current PMP / PgMP) • 1,500 hours of agile project experience earned within the last three years • 21 contact hours of agile training (covered by this course)

FAQs

Do I need to be working in agile to qualify?

Yes. PMI requires 1,500 hours of agile project work within the last three years on top of 2,000 hours of general PM work. Holding the PMP or PgMP credential waives the general-PM requirement.

How does PMI-ACP differ from Scrum certifications like PSM or CSM?

Scrum certifications cover only the Scrum framework. PMI-ACP covers Scrum plus Kanban, Lean, XP, and SAFe-style scaling. It is the broader credential and is recognised across non-Scrum agile environments.

Is the exam fee included?

No. PMI charges the exam fee separately ($435 for members, $495 for non-members). This course covers the 21-hour training requirement and exam prep.

Is the course PMI Authorized?

Yes. PMCOE is a PMI Authorized Training Partner. The 21 contact hours filed automatically count towards the PMI-ACP education requirement.
